About the job

This full-time role includes working closely within a team and also autonomously to service our portfolio of new and established clients to assist with tree surveys and consultancy enquires to provide a professional consultancy services that DTE is known for, these services may include:

  • Tree health and condition inspections (data collection)
  • Tree safety surveys.
  • VALID Tree Risk-Benefit Assessment and Management Survey (VALID training provided)
  • TPO/CA advice and council liaison (training provided)
  • Site supervision and monitoring.
  • Aerial tree inspections using rope and harness/MEWP/Drone inspections (with relevant certificates of competence)
  • Basic BS5387:2012 Tree Surveys data collection

 

The main responsibilities include:

  • Attend site visits with company provided tree management software such as GIS and other specific mapping tree management software for data collection.
  • Provide clear, honest, and verified advice to commercial and domestic clients.
  • To work closely and communicate with other professionals internally and externally to support the completion of surveys and contractual works.
  • Conduct demonstrations and contribute to presentations where required for company profile-raising events, and for company and staff development.
  • To collate quotations for clients if costs have been requested as part of a survey contract.

Preferred Skills

Experience: Have an early, yet growing knowledge of the Arboricultural Industry best practise guidance, tree health, pests, and diseases, and be confident to be able to visually inspect trees and diagnose potential problems and provide sensible management recommendations to clients.  

  • A valid driving license is an essential requirement for this role to mobilise between site visits and working sites.
  • Candidates should ideally have a Level 3 or above in Arboriculture or or to date Professional Tree Inspection Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise between a variety of levels including management, crew members, domestic clients, and commercial clients.
  • People management skills are required to enable cooperation with both clients and colleagues.
  • To have good IT skills, ideally with experience of Office 365.
  • Be organised with excellent time management skills.
  • A professional and friendly, ‘can do’ attitude to any task
